The Medicinal Herb Tracking and Management System involves recording and managing the information related to the production/import, manufacture and distribution to trace-back the origin of the medicinal herb in case of problems with safety, etc. This helps identify the cause of the problem and take the necessary action to mitigate the issue.

The Association of Korean Medicine has been implementing the Medicinal Herb Tracking and Management System in February 2009 starting with the tracking of deer antlers. The antlers sold in the domestic market are from New Zealand, China and Russia, and Pyunkang Korean Medicine Hospital uses the ones from Russia and New Zealand, which are known for their top quality.
